Location

The Mala Strana quarter, rebuilt in the 16th century by skilled Italian architects following the characteristic Baroque and Renaissance style, is part of the Prague entrenched in the past, which forbids driving and becomes magical when the sun sets, an irresistible occasion for a romantic stroll past shops and restaurants until reaching the sight of the dome of the Church of Saint Nicholas.

In the immediate vicinity, from Mala Strana Square starts a hill which leads to Nerudova street and the splendid Prague Castle, the most visited sight in the country, now the residence of the President of the Republic. Surrounded by 40 hectares of gardens, St. Vitus Cathedral is located within its Medieval walls; the tower of the Cathedral offers a lovely view of the city.

Museums / Prague is a city filled with culture, museums and art galleries. We recommend the National Museum, National Technical Museum and Prague City Museum. The National Gallery is located in Sternberg Palace and is one of the most important art galleries in Prague with works by El Greco and Rembrandt.

Gastronomy / When walking around the center of Prague you can't help but notice the enormous quantity of restaurants which welcome you from every corner to try traditional menus based on savoury soups, excellent cured meats and fried cheeses; on your table in addition to wine, you'll find beer, the national beverage par excellence and always top quality.

Shopping / Prague is full of antique, antique book and rare watch shops: there is plenty to choose from in Old Town, while if you are around the Castle or Charles Bridge you can buy famous creations in Bohemian crystal ; for clothes we recommend the boutiques in Parizska street, again in Stare Mesto.

Charles Bridge / One of the most representative images of Prague features the Charles Bridge, Kinsky Garden Hotel is just a few minutes away from it. It is one of the oldest bridges on the continent, decorated with Baroque statues, point of entry to Stare Mesto through the prettiest Gothic gate in Europe. Crossing the bridge offers a privileged view Prague, observing the slow flow of the Vltava, getting to know the brilliant street artists and buying a few souvenirs.

Kinsky Gardens / Kinsky Garden Hotel overlooks Kinsky Gardens, well-kept gardens and green spaces where you can jog freely, relaxing and staying in shape during your stay in Prague; within the park it is possible to visit Villa Kinsky and take the tram up to Petrin Hill, one of the preferred spots of Prague's inhabitants, filled with orchards and forests.

Old Town / If you are the welcome guests of Kinsky Garden Hotel you will reach the center of Prague in just twenty minutes, the public transportation system is very efficient and there is a stop 50 meters from our lobby. You can enjoy the thrill of entering  Old Town Square, a spectacular experience, where amidst the Renaissance buildings and a soaring towers of the Church of Our Lady before Tyn, you will be enchanted by the ancient Astronomical Clock.

How to reach us

By train
After arriving at the main train Prague train station (Hlavni Nadrazi), take tram 9 to get to the hotel, it is the seventh stop and takes around 15 minutes; from Holesovice station, take tram 12 to the eighth stop, the journey takes about 20 minutes. The tram stop (Svandovo divadlo) where you get off is only 50 m from Kinsky Garden Hotel.

By plane
From the Prague airport, take bus 119 to the end of the line (Dejvicka), then take tram 20 to the Svandovo divadlo stop, Kinsky Garden Hotel is 50 m away.  Alternatively, you can take a cab which takes 25/30 minutes to get to the hotel; Kinsky Garden Hotel provides a transfer service to/from the airport for a fixed rate of 600 Czech crowns (around 24 euro).

By car
From the main freeways head towards the center of Prague following the signs for Kinsky Gardens; we are located at 7 Holeckova Street, the street which runs along the southeast side of the park.
